Leadership Lakes Region Program
Session One
Orientation Day
A day to get acquainted with your classmates and the program...what to expect and how to get the most out of it. An introductory session and discussion with proven leaders; how they got to where they are, how they lead their organizations and the lessons they learned about leadership along the way. An Alumni reunion reception for all will follow.
Session Two
History and Culture Day
A historical perspective of the Lakes Region and the cultural forces that have shaped it.
Session Three
Social Issues Day
An overview of the need for and availability of social services in the Lakes Region and the impact upon area communities.
Session Four
Political Issues Day
Learn the relationship and responsibilities of local, county and state government through interactive panel discussions with elected and appointed officials plus tours .
Session Five
Economic Issues Day
This day will introduce participants to the status of our regional economy and the problems and potential for economic growth in the Lakes Region.
Session Six
Educational Issues Day
Interact with educational professionals from various levels as they describe and discuss the challenges faced by today's teachers and
students.
Session Seven
Health Issues Day
An overview of healthcare in the region including access to medical services, costs of these services to the provider as well as the patient, under and uninsured populations and programs to address unique needs.
Session Eight
Lakes Day/Graduation
This day on the Lake will bring the entire year's program into perspective as we explore the central natural feature of our region; its allure,
its fragile nature, its features and its future..Revisit your experiences this past year and discuss how you can use these experiences to
accomplish personal goals as they relate to your community and your Lakes Region. Graduates will be asked for input for next year's
program
